Abstract

The link with the surroundings, as a responsible task of the UNI Graduate School, is attended by its substantive functions: teaching, research and extension. The connection is approached as a study variable and as analysis constructs: academia, characterization, academic interests, research and extension, preferences, foundations in the selection of graduate programs, leadership, participation and management. Given the lack of information and background, the recognized academic activity of UNI, the need to generate actions based on scientific knowledge in order to link and address the demands of the context, the general objective of generating academic proposals, research and extension, which effectively connect the UNI Graduate School with the surroundings. This research is descriptive with a multimodal approach and cross-sectional design. It is accomplished with students in final training courses and teachers from the different academic units of UNI. As relevant results, certain preferences in research topics and activities for extension are obtained; there is a high degree of interest in forming teams in R&E (Research and Extension); The management of the Graduate School is recognized as favorable and some recommendations were presented as well.
