Characterization of students entering 2022 at the National University of Itapúa

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe the sociodemographic situation of students entering the university in the year 2022. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted. The information was collected through a survey applied through a digital form to university students who entered through the admission system in the year 2022. A sample of 735 students was taken, equivalent to 71% of the total. Variables included were the type of institution of origin, bachelor's degree emphasis, place of origin, age and factors related to economic income. Regarding the socioeconomic level of the students, in terms of income, 67% of those surveyed do not work; 82% of those who do work earn less than the minimum wage. Seventy-four percent finished in public institutions, 17% in subsidized schools and 8% in private schools. The results show factors that will allow us to know the students' situation and could have an impact on their permanency.
