El respeto por los Derechos Lingüisticos en la Educación Paraguaya

The present work "Respect for the linguistic rights of the Paraguayan education" has as its objective to make a brief and quick analysis of the sociolinguistic reality of the country, and the educational proposition for such particular reality. Even in this short presentation we can see clearly that the educational proposition for Paraguayan people whose mother tongue is Guarani, they are being taught in Spanish like always they had been doing, even though the Paraguayan Constitution establishes in the article 77, that children have to receive education in their moíher tongue. Paraguayans who have guarani as their mother tongue are still waiting to have the same rights as the ones who have Spanish as their mother tongue. The documents (Constitution, laws, programs, and curriculum) are prepared to grant this right butthe effective use ofthose is still a utopia.
