Abstract

Paraguay as well as other 188 countries member of the United Nations, is committed to achieving the, "Millennium Development Goals" point 4 is to: reduce child mortality by two thirds by the year 2015. The current health situation in our region - our city is still characterized by a high prevalence and incidence of infectious diseases, most of them preventable, influenced by changes caused by the construction of a hydroelectric dam Yacyretá. To implement effective Health Public Policy in early childhood must know its epidemiology in the last 5 years. It was investigated a method of descriptive, analytical cross-section, retrospective, data from patient records in public and private area. We obtained data from 100% of public institutions and 29% of private institutions. We analyzed 25,632 pediatric records, representing 25.76% of the target track. 25% (24 920) corresponds to the Public Institutions and 0.76% (712) to private institutions. Statistically, the prevalence is as follows: 1) mild ARF (61%), 2 °), IRA Moderate (19%), 3 º) Diarrhea (9%), 4 °) Other (11%).
