Comparación de métodos para la evaluación de la calidad del ADN

La extracción de ADN es el primer paso crucial para llevar a cabo análisis genéticos en una amplia variedad de áreas de investigación. Aunque se puede utilizar ADN de calidad y cantidad subóptimas según la finalidad, durante el proceso de extracción se deben evaluar estos parámetros para optimizar el método y su eficiencia. Con estos factores en mente, el objetivo de este estudio fue comparar la eficacia de la electroforesis en gel de agarosa y la espectrofotometría de micro volumen para evaluar la calidad del ADN de ocho hierbas medicinales, una fresca y siete secas extraído utilizando la técnica de CTAB con modificaciones. Se determinó la concentración de ADN mediante el uso de un espectrofotómetro de micro volumen y se realizó una corrida en gel de agarosa al 0.8%. Los resultados obtenidos fueron comparados y los resultados obtenidos por espectrofotometría de micro volumen y geles de agarosa no fueron coincidentes siendo visualizado únicamente el ADN de la hierba medicinal en estado fresco.
