This participatory action research had as its general objective to promote through the National University of Itapúa (UNI) the Education for Integration in the Encarnación - Posadas frontier place, regarding that both cities are part of a common matrix. It is a qualitative research, based on the socio-critical paradigm, and eight University students, who were previously trained in the essentials of PAR, collaborated as facilitators, guiding the different focus groups composed of students of different Colleges at the National University of Itapúa. In order to determine the emerging reality, instruments such as Ishikawa Diagrams and a Discussion Guide were applied to the focus groups.
Once the emerging reality had been determined from the perception of the members of the focus groups, it was concluded that it was necessary to design and to promote from the National University of Itapúa, a Program of Education for Integration, which could collaborate in the creation of trans frontier skills. The Program of Education for Integration, designed under the framework of this research, is composed of objectives and contents, relevant to the emerging reality identified from the different focus groups.
