Planificación estratégica de la educación superior del departamento de Itapúa

Abstract

Itapúa is a Department that is characterized by a culturally enriching reality. It is a potential productive region in agriculture, livestock, industry, and in the commercial and service sectors. In the educational aspect, this Department has a large number of educational institutions at all levels.

Regarding Higher Education in Itapúa, it is important to note the presence of a public university and nine private ones and Technical Institutes in the area of Education, health, Hotel management and teacher training Institutes.

The share of education in the   development department is essential. However institutions work in insolation when is possible work together to achieve the same goal. This scheme presents an alternative long-term orientation, through a Strategic Planning Model which proposes a disposal of shares and an integration scheme of joint works.

Initially the theoretical framework of the research is presented, following the process of strategic analysis, based on a diagnosis of Higher Education takes place, this allowed to develop the SWOT analysis to determine the critical success factors and the application of the symphony method in order to face the weaknesses and threats, taking advantage of the opportunities and strengths.

The development of vision has allowed the definition of the strategic objectives and specific actions and finally presents conclusions summarizing the most relevant features.
