Evaluación de la Calidad de Agua y Propuesta de Gestión Integrada del Arroyo Potiy

Abstract

The actions of human beings affect the environment and it is even more accentuated if there no protection of water resources. On that basis, this study intended to evaluate the quality of the Potiy stream water and establish an integrated management. This was carried out through a monthly monitoring of the stream water quality, which allowed the identification of the main problems within the neighborhoods affected by the runway and therefore developing a management plan. It was determined that the waters of the stream are in good condition, considering the parameter ranges established for the quality for surface waters. Conversely, variations were detected in the different months and seasons, as well as at the time the sample was taken, which influenced the results of the analyzes, bearing in mind that samples were taken after rainfall or in days of wind which led the runway debris or infiltrations by leached. Similarly, according to the results, the residents have little knowledge related to water protection and do not follow up on cleaning and other necessary precaution, considering that when they do not have places for the final disposal of garbage, they are dumped in the water channel.
