Impacto del complemento nutricional del niño/a en edad escolar en las escuelas de la ciudad de Encarnación beneficiadas por el Programa FONACIDE

Abstract

The nutritional status of individuals is considered a valuable indicator of the health in the population as well as the actions of socio-economic and environmental factors. Latinamerica has experienced increased urbanization as a result of deterioration in the quality of life in rural areas, resulting in a migration from the countryside to the city, not planned urbanization, so increasing poverty, environment and health problems associated with the lack of basic sanitation infrastructure and overcrowding deteriorated. This paper aims to analyze the impact of Nutritional supplement on children of 13 schools in the city of Encarnación from the initial level until the 2nd. Cycle receiving the supplement and comprehensive health care in 2013 and 1st Semester of 2014. The nutritional supplement was funded by FONACIDE (Fondo Nacional de Inversión Pública y Desarrollo) and comprehensive health care by the Local Health Board. The study is descriptive, (analytical), qualitative and quantitative cross-section involving children of 6 to 12 years of these schools in relation to the level of nutrition and learning. It was concluded that: The results obtained from the nutritional supplement only at the level of School is insufficient in relation to the impact-meta, The issue to be evaluated-assisted are Homes are the Child and its environment, to get an effective feedback this issue must be approached from the family reality.
